Grupo Garatu started its activity in 1999, aiming to become the most relevant supplier of IT services in the Basque Country. Ever since, we have maintained a steady growth as our services portfolio and our operating area show. Thus, after 15 years in the field, Grupo Garatu remains trusted by their clients. Our personalized attention has made possible for Grupo Garatu to position in our strategic sectors and surpass any geographical barrier.
Nowadays, our activity is divided into three strategic business units: Garatu Cloud, Garatu Development and Garatu Systems & Security. Our professional scope is based on specific understanding of our clients’ business processes, in order to identify new technological opportunities that could improve their performance at every step of the value chain.
And how we do it? Grupo Garatu takes pride of being passionate about sports. We created Grupo Garatu Sports Association in 2015, which is mainly focused on sailing sports and specifically in Vaurien and J80 class sailboats. Our commitment is such that sailing has somehow changed the way we work.
Vaurien ships are known for being fast, always keeping an eye on waves and controlling winds. Like we work on rapidly changing IT markets: tactical, learning-oriented and simple.
On the contrary, J80 ships are based on innovation and prestige. Crew may go up to 5 people who must maintain their weight in order to comply with competition rules. It is a safe boat, suitable for open waters but also extremely demanding in terms of technical competence. And that is exactly how our development, systems, and cloud units work. We help clients get through unknown waters to elaborate a strategy that takes them home safely, prioritizing project´s security, efficiency and reliability.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Above all, Grupo Garatu is a solutions provider. We have managed to become a business solutions provider by anticipating the demands, listening to our clients, seeking for opportunities through our value chain (now value net due to our innovative know how), and, most important, by allying with the most important research centres of the country. We collaborate with the University of Navarre, University of the Basque Country, and University of Deusto.
These are the reasons why we want to become allies with those companies that potentially share our vision, continuing developing as a technological solutions provider and to become recognised as a national reference in the field.
Each year we carry out an internal evaluation to discover whether our values are still relevant or have evolved to address different scenarios. Recently, Grupo Garatu has started to develop its own CSR program. We are now structuring and prioritising a different range of actions that were already routines at the company, such as: suppliers verification (special attention given to conflict free minerals reports); paper consumption reduction; internal training programs and healthy lifestyle promotion. To sum up, we aim to create value globally, being aware that our impact in society goes far beyond our commercial and financial operations.
Grupo Garatu complies with ITIL and AGILE best practices. Both are quality indicators and guidelines to implement at each point of the value chain. Several employees are certified by ITIL institute (ITIL Certification Management Board-ICMB). In practice, we use these standards throughout our daily operations: services management, technology, and systems development, and for all internal activities. We follow these procedures as our commitment to quality and excellence.
